This game was big for both of these 1-0 teams coming into Week 2 trying to prove themselves. Both teams looked impressive in their first game, while putting up big offensive performances. The Eagles started out the game strong, and looked like it might be a repeat of Week 1. The offense was making good drives in the first half, scoring a field goal in their second drive. The following drive was going good and seemed to be topped off by a 36 yard Jalen Reagor touchdown, but was called back on an ineligible receiver downfield due to Reagor stepping out of bounds right before the catch. This put a damper in the drive and led to a field goal attempt that was blocked by San Francisco. Following this drive was a spark on offensive with a 91 yard bomb to Quez Watkins. Though this play setup prime scoring position, some questionable play calls led to a turnover on downs following a failed remake of the "Philly Special". Theoretically, Philadelphia should have been up 17-0, or 13-0, but failed to capitalize on prime opportunities. While the offense was struggling, the defense was on fire holding San Francisco to four straight drives ending in punts. The momentum shift came at the end of the half when the 49ers drove down 97 yards for a touchdown to put them up 7-3. The second half continued how the first ended, with a struggling Philadelphia offense, and a San Francisco offense that was putting the pieces together with players like Deebo Samuel who finished with 6 receptions for 93 yards. The Eagles did attempt a comeback at the end scoring a touchdown with 4:02 left, but it wasn't enough in the end. So, we can learn that the Philadelphia defense played well again despite the two long touchdown drives. We can also take into account the huge opportunities that the Eagles did not capitalize on, which might have won them the game after all. Some things the Eagles will have to work on for future games is play-calling/capitalizing on offense, and trying to create turnovers on defense. If they can clean up some of these small mistakes, they can make some noise.

Quez Watkins: 2 Rec, 117 Yards
