With the season creeping upon us in the next few days, comes predictions and expectations of teams. Below is division and records predictions of the upcoming season.
AFC
AFC East:
Jets (12-5)
Dolphins (10-7)
Bills (8-9)
Patriots (4-13)
With a returning Aaron Rodgers at the helm and a promising defense, New York should be able to live up to the expectations that were set last season. Miami has the tools, but cannot find their way into exceeding expectations. Buffalo will struggle with their departures, but should expect Josh Allen to win them football games. New England will struggle in this rebuild, but should not be discouraged with Drake Maye to look forward to.
AFC West:
Chiefs (11-6)
Broncos (8-9)
Chargers (7-10)
Raiders (5-12)
The Chiefs should be able to handle this struggling division for another year, but not by much for long. Denver should be able to get some pieces going with their promising defense and rookie QB, Bo Nix. LA getting a new head coach with winning experience should be a big help, but they are still missing many pieces to be competitive yet. The Raiders also garnering a new coach should be promising, but not without a future quarterback.
AFC North:
Ravens (13-4)
Steelers (9-8)
Bengals (9-8)
Browns (7-10)
Baltimore is coming off a promising season and a lot to look forward to this season with new additions such as Derrick Henry. The Steelers should be able to create more this season with a new quarterback situation, and what should be a solid defense. The Bengals return Joe Burrow, but also lost out on some players. This means they might be out of reach this season. Cleveland relies on their defense too much, to where the offense will struggle too much this season.
AFC South:
Texans (12-5)
Colts (10-7)
Titans (6-11)
Jaguars (5-12)
After an impressive season from Houston and new coach Demeco Ryans, they have high expectations this season. With new additions on offense and a solid defense, they should be able to impress in this conference. The Colts return their promising young QB, Anthony Richardson. After exceeding expectations last season, they should be able to compete in the division this season with an aggressive. The Titans can look forward to Will Levis taking over the helm, but are not quite there yet all around. The Jags will struggle if Lawrence cannot live up once again, but can surprise people if he's on.
NFC
NFC East:
Eagles (13-4)
Cowboys (10-7)
Commanders (8-9)
Giants (3-14)
Philadelphia should be able to live up to the hype this season with new additions to the roster and coaching staff, there is no reason they can't dominate their schedule. Dallas might be going down the wrong direction, but should be able to win based on their roster. Washington has another good looking roster, which means they should compete better this season, especially with rookie Jayden Daniels at the top. New York will most likely struggle as they have important pieces, but cannot put it together, especially with Daniel Jones still as the guy.
NFC West:
49ers (14-3)
Rams (9-8)
Seahawks (8-9)
Cardinals (4-13)
San Francisco should be able to find success as they did last season, returning basically the same team that led to the Super Bowl. The Rams showed flashes last season, and with their offense and surprising defense, they should be able to compete for a playoff spot. Seattle may be on the downfall as it might wise to look for the future at quarterback, however they should be able to still win games this season with their offense. Arizona is rebuilding and returning Kyler Murray, therefore they should be able to win a couple games, but not there yet.
NFC North:
Packers (12-5)
Lions (10-7)
Bears (7-10)
Vikings (5-12)
This division could be really competitive for the winner this season, however Green Bay looked very impressive with Jordan Love last season. With that and a good defense, they should be able to be one of the better teams in the league. Detroit had a fantastic season previously, but may not be able to replicate that in full this season. Chicago now has a new franchise quarterback and new additions to the roster, which means they should be able to finally string some wins together. Minnesota will have a setback this season as they do not have a reliable quarterback and lost out on other players as well.
NFC South:
Falcons (10-7)
Buccaneers (8-9)
Saints (7-10)
Panthers (3-14)
This division will struggle once again, but could finally have something brewing with Atlanta taking over. With a new coach and a bunch of new additions including Kirk Cousins, they should be able to put this team to use. Tampa had a better year than expected last season, but should see mediocre results this season as not much has changed. New Orleans will have to look into dumping Derek Carr and revamping some of their offense, as their defense will carry them this season to wins. The Panthers are rebuilding and looking to get their young team going, it will certainly take more time.
