In the last week or so the Knicks have experienced some updates with the front office and contracts. To start off, the team and General Manager Scott Perry decided to part ways. This also comes in the same week as General Manager Bob Myers stepping down from the Golden State Warriors. Of course this then brings in speculation of the possibility of Myers stepping into the role with the Knicks. This would make sense in the fact the Myers has established himself in the past years as one of the more poised and smart GM's in the league. However, he has not been in the Knicks system which would be the downside to the operation. This is where Gersson Rosas has been brought up, who is the Senior Basketball Advisor for New York. Rosas has had previous experience in the front office and General Manager spot, and most recently being the President of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Though he's only been in the Knicks system for a little over a year now, he is speculated to be a frontrunner for the new position. Either way the Knicks should be in a good position in the search.

Additionally in the news has been two contract talks pertaining Guards Immanuel Quickley and Josh Hart. Quickley is set to for an extension, and the rumored price is fairly hefty at around four years for $80 million. The reports also state that it could reach even $90-$100 million at that. This is a large contract for the recent Sixth Man of the Year finalist, and will be something the front office will have to look into. If this price holds true and is done, he would then be making roughly $20-$25 million a year. Otherwise the team could look to trade the young guard depending on the direction of the front office. As for Hart, he is set to decline his $13 million player option and ink a new deal in the ballpark of $18 million per year. This price has also been looked at as questionable as some of the contracts on the team begin to rise. In his short stint to end the season, Hart showed the kind of important play he can bring on both sides of the ball and proved he belongs in the New York environment. The only question is if the front office believes he is worth the price for the team moving forward.

This will only be the beginning of a long summer in basketball, so buckle up Knicks fans.
